Some further information about SRM

SRM Network was originally set up in 2002 by Nigel Moore to support strategic planning and sports development projects.

This has since been expanded as SRM has worked with many agencies across the sport and recreation landscape, including National Governing Bodies of Sport, County Sports Partnerships, Local Authorities, Higher/Further Education, Schools and community sports clubs.

The network has grown and expertise for differing projects has included specialist support from areas such as:

Funding and fundraising
Business development
Marketing
Leadership and management
HR planning and personnel development
Financial management and tax planning
Facility and project management
Training and education programme development
Club operational planning and management

We also support a number of charity and voluntary groups, with specific support for Access Sport over the past 3 years; this has included Nigel riding in major cycling sportives, such as the Maratona D’les Dolomites and the Etape du Tour. In 2011 he cycled 1,300 miles over 10 major sportives, including a very wet and cold day in the Auvergne mountains on the Etape du Tour of 130miles. 2012’s challenge was the Marmotte sportive an altogether serious challenge in one day, preceded by a few warm up events such as the Yorkshire Dales, Dartmoor and a few alpine cols.

In 2013, the challenge was to ride The Etape du Tour Sportive in the French Alps – truly a Blue Ribbon event in continental cycling and raised a few thousand pounds for Cancer Research.

2013 – 2014 a different challenge!  To help train a Hearing Dog Puppy, well at least the ‘socialising part’ before the puppy is taken into full training at the Hearing Dog Headquarters in Saunderton.  This entailed taking on a young puppy called Penny (Cocker Spaniel) at 8 weeks old and looking after her – taking her to  twice monthly training sessions, plus monthly walks with other Hearing dog puppies.  Please see http://www.hearingdogs.org.uk and also how you  can donate towards this worthy cause.  The outcome after 15 months – Penny was accepted for training as a Hearing Dog and even won Puppy of the Year 2014 Award!
